The ARC is staffed by the General Paediatric team with the support of the MDU nursing team. It provides follow-up for children who present to our Emergency Department (ED) with an acute illness requiring follow-up treatment or review, or who are admitted to the hospital and require a medical review after discharge.
A Specialty Team Acute Review Clinic is also available for patients requiring sub-acute specialist review as an ED avoidance Model of Care.
Hospital in the Home (HITH)
HITH offers nurses the opportunity to visit children at home or school to provide treatment, resulting in a unique relationship with patients and families. As this requires you to work alone in the community you should be a skilled, experienced nurse who has the confidence to practice independently with attention to detail.
Medical Day Unit (MDU)
The MDU is a nurse-led unit and provides specialised care for patients and families who require medical review, treatment and investigations that can be achieved in a day stay setting.
Shifts
Shifts available rotate between weekdays and weekends and are 8-10 hours long.

- ED Short Stay Unit (EDSSU): Equipped to care for patients needing a brief, monitored stay before discharge, avoiding unnecessary full admissions.
