Here's a list of organisations who provide food relief and assistance, including community pantries and vouchers.
Food Services via "Ask Izzy" website
The 鈥淎sk Izzy鈥� website includes a 鈥淔ood Support鈥� section with a guide to different kinds of food support. The kind of help you can get will depend on your situation, where you live, and other things like your age. The Food Support section can help direct you to a variety of local food supports including:
- Community meals: cheap or free meals that are offered by charitable and social organisations in your community.
- Food parcels and vouchers: Some organisations will provide food parcels and pantry items that you can take home to eat, or vouchers that you can use to purchase food at a supermarket.
- Meals on wheels: Each state in Australia has a Meals on Wheels service. This service provides affordable meals to people who cannot easily leave their homes, due to age or disability.

SecondBite distributes the food we rescue to charity and community organisations who provide food relief programs to individuals and families in need.
Anglicare Emergency Food Assistance
Food parcels are available at their Food and Financial Assistance offices. Food is packed to the individual's requirements. Anyone who is food insecure can access this service. You can have three free food parcels per year.

Mission Australia Emergency Relief
Provides food hampers and vouchers to those in need. Hampers are basic/standardised. They include items like baked beans, rice, spaghetti, water, tuna, and coffee/tea but can vary depending on stock availability.
- Contact the office on (02) 9357 1144 for an initial over the phone assessment. You will be asked to provide a Centrelink statement.
The Salvation Army Food Assistance
Emergency vouchers for food and financial assistance. Can be picked up from nearest Salvation Army store.
Community Pantry at Anglicare Op Shops
You can purchase a full bag of groceries for just $12 from the Community Pantry at the Anglicare Op Shop.
Locations: Bowral, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Dee Why, Ingleburn, Lithgow, Liverpool, Miller, Mt Druitt, Parramatta, Penrith, Richmond, St Marys.
Mobile Community pantry via Anglicare
The Community Pantry provides groceries at a very low cost. The Mobile Community Pantry is run in partnership with local churches and visits each location on a fortnightly basis. Community members are welcome at each site. You can make a small contribution and fill a bag with items of your choice from the stock available.
- $12 for groceries (EFTPOS available) and/or
- $3 for fresh food (bring along your Pension, Health Care or Immigration Card). Coles and Woolworths vouchers may also be available.
ACT Communities at Work Food Pantries
These community pantries can provide you with free and/or heavily discounted basic food, household, and personal care items if you鈥檙e struggling or experiencing hardship in Canberra.

Helps people on government benefit cards to purchase low-cost groceries. They provide a large variety of dry groceries, frozen food, fresh fruit and vegetables and bread daily.

Kurri Kurri The Food Shack
Provides members in the community the opportunity to obtain affordable household items and groceries. Members can access the service on a weekly basis and obtain packaged and tinned items, fruit, vegetables, bread and milk.
